Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen was born on 27 March 1845. When he was a
child, he wasn't a very successful student, but he was interested in nature
and being in the countryside. At the age of 17, he entered a technical
school. In 1865, he started studying at the University of Utrecht. After
working at different universities as an academician, he discovered the
X-ray in 1896. It was a great development in the history of medicine, so he
got many prizes. Also, he became the first winner of the Nobel Prize (in the

field of physics in 1901). After a successful life, he died on 10 February
1923 in Munich.
