The Living History: Adıyaman

I am interested in cultural holidays because cultural holidays take us on a journey into our
past and let us visit that period. Adıyaman is a great city in southeast of Turkey. It is famous for
its cultural wealth, so I have visited there with my close friend, Linda.
The old city preserves many historic buildings. We have visited Derik Castle, Haydaran Rock
Tombs, Cendere Bridge, and some historical mosques. We have also seen some monuments
that belong to the Komagene Kingdom and we have taken lots of photos. But we haven’t seen
Nemrut National Park because we are not fond of the natural beauties of the cities. Mostly, we
have spent our time visiting ancient places.
Adıyaman is not more expensive than the other provinces of Turkey, so we have tasted
so many local dishes. We have tried Davutpaşa Soup, Karnıyarık, and Cheese Halvah. They
were truly delicious. It is easy to find accommodation for every budget in Adıyaman. Bed and
breakfast hotels are common for visitors, but we preferred staying in an all-inclusive hotel.
Would you like to touch the living history? You don’t need to look for any other places.
Adıyman is the best place for it. Don’t forget to buy souvenirs for your friends because they are Nick
really magnificent.
