Eğer bir sorumluluğumuzdan bahsetmek istersek, ‘responsible for’ ve ‘in charge of’ yapılarını kullanabiliriz. Aşağıdaki örnekleri
inceleyerek bu yapıların nasıl kullanıldığını görelim:
I am responsible for doing the laundry. Ben çamaşır yıkamaktan sorumluyum.
She is responsible for dusting the shelves. O rafların tozunu almaktan sorumlu.
We aren’t responsible for cooking. Biz yemek yapmaktan sorumlu değiliz.
Are they responsible for cooking? Onlar yemek yapmaktan sorumlu mu?
I am in charge of making my bed. Ben yatağımı yapmaktan sorumluyum.
He is in charge of mopping the floor. O yerleri paspaslamaktan sorumlu.
They aren’t in charge of paying the bills. Onlar faturaları ödemekten sorumlu değil.
Are we in charge of washing the dishes? Biz bulaşıkları yıkamaktan sorumlu muyuz?

Don’t you think it is necessary to do the ironing? Ütü yapmak sence de gerekli değil mi?

Expressing Obligations (Zorunluluk İfade Etme)

Zorunluluklarımızdan bahsedeceğimiz zaman ‘must’ ve ‘have to’ yapılarını kullanırız. Örnekleri ve ardından tabloları inceleyelim.
I must do the laundry. Çamaşırı yıkamam gerek.
I mustn’t do the laundry. Çamaşır yıkamamam gerek.
I have to do the laundry. Çamaşırı yıkamak zorundayım.
I don’t have to do the laundry. Çamaşırı yıkamak zorunda değilim.

Positive Form Negative Form
I / We / You / They / He / She / It must mow the lawn.. I / We / You / They / He / She / It mustn’t mow the lawn.
Question Form
Must I / we / you / they / he / she / it mow the lawn?
HAVE TO

Positive Form Negative Form
I / We / You / They have to mow the lawn. I / We / You / They don’t have to mow the lawn.
He / She / It has to mow the lawn. He / She / It doesn’t have to mow the lawn.

Question Form
Do I / we / you / they have to mow the lawn?
Does he / she / it have to mow the lawn?
