A Good Summer with Friends
There are so many fascinating activities to do in a summer holiday for teenagers. You can learn a new sport like
archery or skating. You can learn playing chess if you don’t know it. Or you can go camping with your buddies. I usually
go camping with my friends. Some of them are my classmates and some of them are my friends from our school band.
We take our basic equipment such as rope, sleeping bag, backpack, tent… and we are ready to go.
We usually prefer Akkaya for camping, but sometimes we go to Yedigöller, Bolu. One of my friends from Bolu
recommended it to us. When we go to the campsite, we share the duties. I and Musa pitch the tent. Nevin doesn’t
prefer pitching the tent because she doesn’t like it. She generally burns a campfire with Beyazıt. Kemal and Melisa
prepare the meals. I am fond of eating their meals.
During the day times we prefer doing some camp activities. Before the breakfast we take our backpacks, map and
compass, then we go trekking. In the afternoons, we read books. Kemal and I are interested in the same type of books.
We both like detective books. Nevin and Musa like Gothic books and Beyazıt likes realistic books. Melisa dislikes reading
books. She listens to rock music when we read our books. Sometimes it is unbearable for me to listen to rock music.
After we have dinner, we sit around the campfire. We roast our marshmallows and we don’t talk about serious
topics, so we just chit-chat. I think it is the best part of the camp. We sometimes play the guitar and sing songs together.
Camping is a fascinating activity to feel relaxed.
