just talking. Later, they used cave paintings to send messages. Alphabetic writing appeared
in 1500 BC. In fifteenth century, people learnt how to express their ideas on a book. In 1844
people used telegraph to communicate with people far away from them. Telephone followed
telegraph. It was an important invention for people to buy and sell things to far places. In 1940
black-and-white TV broadcasts started. People could watch different cultures, news, sports
and music programmes at their homes. When modern computers were on our desks, the
world started to change a lot. In 1975, the first personal computer was invented. When it was
1983, the most modern invention in communication appeared. It was a cellular phone. It was
the first step of the smartphone. In 1996, the Internet made our lives easier. We could do our
works very quickly and easily. Now, you can see a smartphone in every person’s hand.
